Any Humphrey Alumnus/a who have been home for at least three years is eligible to apply for an Alumni Professional Development Grant.
Please note that any alumnus/a who has already completed one Professional Development Grant activity must wait at least two complete years from the beginning date of the initial activity before applying for a second Professional Development Grant.
Guidelines
Applicants are responsible for researching opportunities available to them in their field, as well as providing documentation confirming their participation in the workshop/conference/professional visit.
Applicants must submit a budget that reflects cost-sharing (either through personal funds or through funds provided by a sponsor) in the amount of at least 25% of the total cost of the activity.
Requested per diem amounts must abide by U.S. Government rates for the particular city in which the proposed Professional Grant activities are being held. These rates are available through the U.S. Embassy.
Requested funds cannot exceed US$2,500.
Review Process
Applications received at IIE on or before the appropriate deadline will be evaluated by a panel made up of IIE and ECA staff. All applicants will be notified of their status once decisions are made. Once awards have been accepted, wire transfers will be made to grantees using bank information provided on your application. The amount of funds approved for a grant may be different from the amount requested.
